Start 'em young - Bringing in the herd!

Had to round up some of the horses tonight out of one pasture and into another. I sent Tristan (my 5 year old) to the back of the herd with a flag while I went to the top of the pasture to open the gate. He drove these guys up to the top all by himself so I could manage the gates. Before that he helped me get a loose cow back into the pasture where she belongs. And before that he helped me feed my two horses, check all the waters, and peek in on the calves in the calf pen.  He's so excited to start his Level 2 now that the weather is nicer, he's really going to be a heck of a horseman when he's older!

Beautiful horses, beautiful evening.

Parelli Kids ~ Undemanding Time

That's my beautiful boy and our mare B.G. spending some undemanding time together.  B.G. can be a little tense around humans so Tristan spent time last summer just hanging out with her to help her develop confidence and peace while in our company.  I'd say it's working by her big, relaxed yawn and Tristan's excited smile!
