It's great that when you test your skills and the foundation you've put in place in the "real world" that it all actually works. :) Samanthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05227845714060082884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459056907239751371.post-84927550536295194412016-07-23T19:14:37.943-06:002016-07-23T19:14:37.943-06:00It IS liberating to realize how much one (you know...It IS liberating to realize how much one (you know)s. I just spent 3 days, with a group of backcountry horsemen(women). I did not truly know anyone except my husband when we met on the trailhead. I was going to be part of a group taking youth into the wilderness for the first time. I was the only Parelli student there. I still pinch myself, that I am a level 3 graduate. As with you, I submitted my audition(s) but was concerned I was not good enough. After this weekend, I realized I am a level 3-4 student and was quite proud of the fact, my horse was my partner. He trusted me, to high line him( a first for him) and he spent the best part of two days on it. ( I did take him and his non Parelli trained horse to grass and water, at least 4 times each day, unlike the other horses and mules on the trip). He then was hobbled for the first time in the 8 years I have owned him. He tested the boundary, looked at me, as if to say, ok, I can do this and went back to grazing. He grazed a circle. Not moving his front feet. So proud that he was calm and trusted me. So, in the end, it is NOT about perfection. It is about trust, leadership and fairness. Congratulations on your green string. I look forward to reading about your journey thru level 4. PS. Freestyle is my most difficult Savvy too. Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11312204682734199915noreply@blogger.com
